New Driver - Learners

This course is to prepare you for the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) driving tests.  During the course you will learn all the skills required to be a safe and confident driver. The course is structured around the DSA's learning to drive syllabus and training will be given in both theory and practical elements of the tests.

Your training is structured around your needs, so whether you are starting from scratch or have had practice before, we will find a starting point and progress from there!

Pupils have a choice of one, one and a half or two hour lessons weekly or can opt for a semi intensive course.  Semi intensive courses are spread between four to ten hours weekly.  This course is ideal for pupils looking for fast progress and rapid results!

Pass Plus - Full Licence Holders

Great! You’ve passed your driving test - now you can drive on your own at last.  But it doesn’t stop there; this is just the end of the beginning…

Getting your own car will give you the independence you need.  For a new driver, the cost of insurance can be sky high.

And the reason for this? Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of passing their test than at any other time in their driving career. Age doesn’t matter – it’s basically down to a lack of driving experience.  That’s where PASS PLUS comes in!

Pass Plus is a course designed to develop your new driving skills.  The course also gives you the opportunity to gain experience on different types of roads and situations you may not have driven in before.  Pass Plus modules include; Town driving, All-weather Driving, Driving out of town, Night Driving, Driving on Dual Carriageways and Driving on Motorways.  There is no test at the end of the course as you will be assessed by your instructor during your training.

Motorway Driving - Full Licence Holders

Driving on a motorway can be a daunting experience if you do not have the confidence or have never dealt with them before.  That's why it is a good idea to take up some motorway training.  Motorways can be one of the safest types of roads to drive on if you are trained correctly and fully prepared.  Like all our courses, we structure the training around your needs.  So whether you have never driven on a motorway before or need to build up your confidence dealing with them, we can help!  This course is only available to full licence holders.

Refresher Course - Full Licence Holders

Driving lessons are not just for learners!  This course is a flexible way of developing your driving skills.  We structure the training around your needs.  The training is based on whatever element of your driving you wish to improve on.  Typical examples include; driving phobias, dealing with difficult junctions, negotiating roundabouts, night driving, parking, improving your awareness of other road users, becoming a defensive driver and improving your confidence on the road.

The refresher course is also a good opportunity for people who may have passed their driving test but have not driven for a while.  The course is a great way of refreshing your driving skills and getting you back on the road!  Another reason for this course, is if you have been involved in a car accident (either as a passenger or driver).  You will have the opportunity to share any stresses or fears you may have about driving again and we will then slowly build up your confidence, at your own pace.  See our Drive Therapy page for more information.

Eco-Safe Driving - Full Licence Holders

The Eco-Safe driving course has been designed to ensure you are driving economically.  With fuel prices and car maintenance costs forever increasing, there's no better time to learn how to get the most out of your vehicle and possibly save money!

During the course you will learn how to read the road effectively and improve you planning and awareness skills. This in itself could reduce your fuel consumption, if implemented correctly.  You will also be taught other methods of reducing the wear and tear of your vehicle.

Basic Car Maintenance Checks Training

CSM Driving School have created this course to develop peoples understanding of basic car maintenance.

During the course you will be trained in how to check the main fluids of the car (oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid) as well as how to make sure your tyres are inflated correctly and are safe to use on the road.  You will also be trained in making visual checks of your vehicles lights and window wiper blades.

As a car owner, it is your responsibility that these basic checks are made on a daily or weekly basis regardless of the age of your car.  So don’t run the risk of a costly repair bill or a fine.  Get the training you need to confidently carry out these checks yourself!

The course lasts 90 minutes and is conducted on a one to one basis.  The training car be carried out on either your own car or we can supply one.  At the end of the course you will be given a laminated CSM Vehicle Safety Check Schedule showing what all the checks are and when they should be carried out.

A perfect course for someone who wants a basic understanding of car safety checks without all the mechanical jargon!
